BBC1 ‘New Tricks’ Actors visit The Heart Centre for Know Your Numbers! week

Amanda Redman and Alun Armstrong

Please come along to the William Harvey Heart Centre in Charterhouse Square, Barbican, on Friday morning for a free blood pressure check with charity Blood Pressure UK! We are asking ‘Do you have lucky numbers?’ to celebrate this year’s Know Your Numbers Week, (16-22 September).

We are thrilled to announce that the stars of BBC1’s New Tricks; Actress Amanda Redman, MBE, and Olivier award winner Alun Armstrong - perhaps recently best known for assaulting his boss at his leaving party on the current series - will be at the Heart Centre at 12noon on Friday 19th September to support the event and speak to staff and visitors.

Blood Pressure UK’s “Know Your Numbers!” week is a nationwide event - there are about 1200 pressure stations spread across UK who will be measuring the blood pressure during this coming week. This is entirely voluntary and includes colleges, hospitals, clinics, fitness centres and pharmacies have registered to host this event.

The charity Blood Pressure UK, based in Charterhouse Square, has been running this event annually for the past 12 years to encourage the general public to have their blood pressure checked.  If your blood pressure reading is raised or high, you can take immediate action to lower it, and to reduce your chances of having a stroke or heart attack.

The event will be open to all staff, family and friends on the morning of Friday 20th September when there will also be a fundraising ‘bake sale’. So if you haven’t had your blood pressure checked in the last year why not take advantage of our invitation to “Know Your Numbers!? Find out your numbers and also come and meet the Blood Pressure UK team!
