NHS Health Checks for Kingston shoppers
Kingston residents can stop by for a free heart health MOT when they’re shopping at Richmond Road Sainsbury’s or in the Apple Market, at various dates during the next few weeks.
NHS Kingston have teamed up with UK charity the Blood Pressure Association to take heart health screening to convenient community locations, tackling heart disease and stroke in the borough.
All Kingston residents aged 40-74 are eligible for the screening, provided they haven’t already been diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, heart disease or have had a heart attack or stroke.
There’s no need for an appointment, and it takes just 20 minutes to have a full ‘NHS health check’, which includes blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol, diabetes and waist circumference testing.
If any readings are outside the optimal range, health professionals conducting the screening will advise residents what to do next and give details of local support services.
Kingston residents can get their free NHS Health Check on the following dates:
- Friday 12 March, 11am – 6pm
Screening van in car park of Sainsbury’s, Sury Basin, Richmond Road - Saturday 13 March, 11am – 6pm
Screening van in car park of Sainsbury’s, Sury Basin, Richmond Road - Saturday 27 March, 9am – 5pm
Screening van in the Apple Market, Market Place, near Costa Coffee
