Gift Aid is a way for you to give more to Blood Pressure UK when you donate, without it costing you any extra.
Gift Aid allows us to claim an extra 25p on every £1 you donate, as we can reclaim the tax you pay on your donation.
We can claim Gift Aid as long as:
- you’re a UK tax payer
- you pay at least as much in tax as we claim in that tax year (from 6 April to 5 April)
- you donate from your personal account rather than a business account – see below if you are donating from a company
- you agree to Gift Aid being claimed
If you have any questions, contact us at info@bloodpressureuk.org
How to Gift Aid your donation
If you’d like to make a donation to Blood Pressure UK and you’d like to Gift Aid it, simply tick the box when you make a donation online. If you’d like to donate by post, print out and fill in the Gift Aid form and include it with your cheque.
Once we receive the form, we can claim Gift Aid on all donations you have made in the last four years and any donations you make in the future. Just let us know if your circumstances change and you stop paying tax. You can also cancel your declaration at any time by contacting us.
Higher rate tax payers
Using Gift Aid can benefit you too. If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim the difference between the rate you pay (40%) and the basic rate (20%) on your donation, that’s a difference of 20%.
For example. if you donate £100, we can use Gift Aid to receive £125. You can claim back 20% of this which works out as £25.
